August, 2012 :: 5th Annual Blood Drive
This year we once again teamed up with Carter BloodCare to collect blood for the D/FW community. Every day close to 800 patients in North Central and East Texas need timely blood transfusions to survive. Blood donors make organ transplants possible and help patients survive surgeries, cancer, accidents, life-threatening burns and other medical conditions.
We had 12 volunteers who donated a total of nine pints of blood. That amount could help save up to 27 lives!
June, 2012 :: Lakewest Skilled Care
With the help of The Senior Source we took a trip to Lakewest Rehabilitation and Skilled Care.
Through our “SOCK HOP” we collected 118 pairs of socks for the residents. We went on June 5th to meet the residents, pass out socks to all 92 of them, dance to some 50’s music (yes, some of them did dance!), and eat a variety of ice cream treats we brought for everyone to enjoy.
We had a great time and were able to spend some quality time with the residents talking and laughing out loud!

April, 2012 :: Matthew 25: Ministries
This month we collected donations for Matthew 25: Ministries to aid recent tornado victims around the U.S.
The mission of Matthew 25: Ministries is to fulfill Matthew 25:34–40 by providing nutritional food to the hungry, clean water to the thirsty, clothing to the naked, shelter to the homeless, medical care to the ill, and humanitarian supplies to the poorest of the poor. The team delivered first response aid to the tornado victims, including basic necessities such as food, water and blankets to locations including Henryville, IN, Moscow, OH, Chelsea, IN and Maryville, IN. They also connected with partners to assess damages, identify the most urgent needs, and develop operational templates for ongoing aid.
idGroup jumped into action and immediately began collecting supplies to help them out. All in all our office collected several boxes full of canned goods, water, first-aid supplies and basic necessities.
Thank you for your continued support!
March, 2012 :: “Brown Bag” for VNA Meals on Wheels
On March 6th folks at the idGROUP participated in the second annual “Brown Bag” for VNA Meals on Wheels Day by bringing a sack lunch and donating their dining-out money towards providing nutrious meals for senior citizens. We raised $160 in one day! That’s enough to feed one senior citizen for more than six weeks.
The Visiting Nurse Association’s Meals on Wheels program provides a nutritious, freshly prepared, hot meal to Dallas County residents who are unable to provide or prepare their own meals due to illness, advanced age, or disability. These meals are prepared in VNA’s Beatrice M. Haggerty Kitchen and nearly 4,000 volunteers then deliver the meals to the homes of Meals on Wheels clients, along with kind words and a caring spirit. Over one million meals every year are delivered to seniors who are homebound or dining at senior centers in Dallas County.
