Palm Beach Tan celebrated the grand opening of its newest luxury salon in Frisco, TX on Friday, August 20th complete with the Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. The idGROUP ranked #10 in the Dallas Business Journal’s annual list of the largest metroplex interior architectural firms (ranked by 2008 local gross billings). Last year the idGROUP billed $4.85 million locally.

dallas green building ordinance

Dallas is one of the first large cities in the U.S. to adopt a green building standards program for new construction. Phase I went into effect on 10/1/09 with a focus on energy efficiency and water conservation, and affects all new ground up residential and commercial construction. Phase II will go into effect on 10/1/11 with all new construction being required to meet LEED certification or an equivalent measure as outlined in the ordinance.

Interior architecture and construction, or renovation of existing interior space is not affected by the new ordinances at this time.

The Dallas Business Journal just announced the results of its annual DFW “Best Places to Work” competition, and the idGROUP scored a 96.51, which puts us at #13 out of 100 in the small business category and makes this our fourth consecutive year in the top 100.

LEED-Certified Space For Lockheed

The idGROUP has been hired to develop a LEED-certified space for Texas-based defense company Lockheed Martin. The 56,000+ s.f. space occupies two floors of the new Wilcox Plaza at Green Oaks in Fort Worth. To qualify for LEED certification idGROUP worked closely with Lockheed Martin to select environmentally responsible finishes, energy-efficient lighting, and dedicated areas for collecting recyclable materials. Planned completion: late December, 2009. General contractor: Scott + Reid.
